A huge digital asset - Beards Digital join the Gemini Group

Beards Digital, Gemini Group’s newest member, is a huge asset to the group. Beards Digital was formed in 1952 and is now regarded as a forerunner in digital print across the region. The merger will see the company relocate to Shoreham-by-Sea, a move which will increase the Gemini Group’s digital capabilities. It will also see the group offer extra finishing facilities including perfect binding.
Commenting on the merger, Nigel Holmes, managing director of Gemini said: ‘The merger of Gemini with Beards makes perfect commercial sense. It will expand the group’s offer of digital print capabilities resulting in a huge upturn in business for both companies.’
Julie Beard, managing director at Beards added: ‘The merging of Beards with Gemini will provide a strong offer for all print work not only in the South East but across the UK. Both businesses have an unrivalled track record in delivering quality and print on time and within budget. This is an exciting time for all concerned and we can’t wait to move.’

Gemini Group’s £1 million investment signals major sales drive

Gemini Press at Shoreham-by-Sea and Quentin Press at Burgess Hill are the beneficiaries of two new printing presses which were ordered by the Group at this year's IPEX exhibition. The machines, Komori Lithrone S 529s, are said to be the first delivered in the UK. Printing to a B2 size in five colours, the machines' automated capabilities will mean both faster set-up and output times for both companies.

The machine being installed at Gemini Press has the extra facility of perfecting and its arrival enables the company to further increase its already formidable range of printing plant. Nigel Holmes, Managing Director of the Gemini Group said: 'This is a significant investment and strengthens the Group's position as one of the UK's leading print organisations.
'The new machines will make us very competitive especially in the high quality, short run market and we'll be looking to target various sectors including brochures, reports and accounts, and up-market magazines.
'One of our strengths is to exceed our clients' expectations and investing in the latest technology reflects this philosophy. We're looking forward to putting the new machines through their paces and delivering a very high standard of work.'

'Our in-house expertise allows us to provide the total print package all under one roof, from initial concepts and design through to the finished product. The constant upgrading of our equipment means we have the advantage of being flexible enough to meet a wide range of clients' needs.'

Improved technology at Quentin Press

Paul Dupret, managing director of Quentin Press, added: 'We at Quentin Press very much welcome the arrival of this new machine which will enable us to speed up our turn-round times to provide an even better service for our clients. The Komori's improved technology allows us to move nearer to our environmental goals with alcohol-free running and by reducing paper wastage.'

Quentin Press has now converted its existing plant to alcohol free printing.
